Dana Airline resumes flight operations today

Reportedly, Dana Airline has successfully passed the operational audit exercise by the NCAA and was stated to start operations yesterday which is  Saturday January 25th.

 A statement from the airline said following the successful outcome of the operational audit of Dana Air by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), the airline is set to recommence full commercial flight operations today.

Announcing the resumption of flight operations in Lagos, the Chief Operating Officer & Accountable Manager, Mr. Yvan Drewinsky, said the lifting of the suspension order is a testament that Dana Air
adheres strictly to prescribed safety standards as dictated by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (NCARs) and the International Civil  Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standards.

Freeze mocks Nigerian celebrities, claims they all use fake stuffs

Popular radio host, Ifedayo Olarinde popularly known as Freeze,  has disclosed that many Nigerian celebrities wear fake stuffs.

First thing first, for all the entertainers putting up pictures of their accessories on Instagram, can they please tweet the receipt from an authorised dealer. Trust me, I have seen too many celebs wear fake stuffs. You can tell that they don’t know what they are wearing. Of course, there are a few brand names like D’banj, Don Jazzy, P-Square or Wizkid that would not wear fake. I have seen them wear good watches. But there are some other people who I have seen wear funny looking pieces.

There was one particular musician that I saw wearing a Rolex and the gold was fading.

Rolex never uses gold plates, they use pure gold. If you see anything gold on a Rolex, it is pure gold. When I saw that, I was disappointed at the musician, especially because of the level of respect I had for the musician. There is no such thing like buying a Rolex with a credit card. You can’t buy a Rolex with a credit card; who are you? Diddy? For you to be able to walk away with a £20,000 watch, you would have a substantial amount of money in that card." President Jonathan appoints former PDP chairman Bamanga Tukur as Chairman of Railway Corporation

President Goodluck Jonathan has appointed the immediate past chairman of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, Bamanga Tukur as Chairman Board of the Nigerian Railway Corporation. 

His appointment was listed in a statement released by Special Assistant (Media) to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sam Nwaobasi. 

Tukur who resigned last week as chairman of PDP and has being replaced by the former Governor of Bauchi State, Adamu Muazu.

BBC Focus on Africa reporter Komla Dumor dies suddenly at age 41

              

    Reportedly Ghanaian journalist and main presenter of the BBC World News programme Focus on Africa, Komla Dumor just kicked the bucket. The TV anchor reportedly passed away at his home in London today Jan. 18th. He was 41.

Dumor joined the BBC as a radio broadcaster in 2007 after a decade of journalism in Ghana. From then until 2009 he hosted Network Africa for BBC World Service radio, before joining The World Today programme.

In 2009 Komla Dumor became the first host of Africa Business Report on BBC World News. May his soul rest in peace...Amen.

You recently stirred up 
controversy when 
you said Catholics 
would go to hell. 
Why did you say 
that? It is because the church perverts the gospel of Jesus Christ and 
that perversion is located in the leadership. Even as Pope Francis 
recently announced. However, there are many good Christians within the 
Catholic Church who are 
not aware of the doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church, that has 
substituted Mary for Jesus, in what is known as the hyperdulia of the 
Virgin Mary. Salvation for them is not through Jesus alone but in 
accordance with what Pope Francis recently announced to the world. 
That, in itself, is a direct violation of the sanctity of the 
scriptures. 

You even described the Pope as "an anti-Christ and a friend of Satan" 
and that the Catholic Church is a counterfeit church set up by Satan. 
What made you say this? The heresies in their doctrine and the recent 
announcement by Pope Francis corroborate this position. 

You were credited to have said that tattooing and plastic surgery were 
not sins before God; can you explain this to the public because it's 
still a controversial issue? No, I didn't say that. What I said is 
that even though it is our body and to an extent we have the liberty 
to do what we want with it, at the end of the day, everybody will 
stand before God to give account of how he/she used his/her body. 

Same way people criticise pastors who have jets, what do you think? 
It is because of the novelty. Pastors who buy these jets have their 
reasons. When you do something new, it will create a stir. 

Do you own a jet, if not, are you planning to buy one? No, I do not 
have a jet now. But I will if it becomes necessary in the prosecution 
of my ecclesiastical responsibilities. 

Some people still can't understand why you divorced twice; they 
believe it is wrong for pastors to divorce. Why do you always divorce? 
I have addressed this issue from the pulpit several times. 

But why did you divorce someone you reportedly told your members God 
asked you to marry? I don't want to go into that again. 

Are you still planning to remarry? No.

Nigeria drop to 41st in FIFA world Ranking

Nigeria's senior national team has dropped four places to 41st in the latest FIFA world ranking released today.

Their drop comes after losing 2-1 to Mali in Saturday's African Nations Championship game, a tournament that has been upgraded to ranking status by Fifa.

The Super Eagles are now seventh in Africa.

10 Truths to Keep Your Relationship Healthy

I think it's easy to make things more complicated than they need to be. Here are some basic rules of the relationship road that will keep you headed in the right direction

6.     Anger is a waste of time. Anger is also a relationship killer, because it makes you self-absorbed and won't allow you to see the good. If you are annoyed with your mate, give yourself some time to calm down and then gently discuss what's going on for you.

7.     Get regular tune-ups. Go to a couples workshop, talk with a counselor, or read a relationship book together at least once a year. Even if you don't think you need it, you will pick up a couple of ideas, and the process alone will strengthen your connection.

8.     Find a way to become and stay best friends. For some this sounds unromantic, but for those who live it, most say it's the best part of their time together.

9.     Be responsible for your own happiness. No other person can make you happy. It's something you have to do on your own. If you feel it's your partner's fault, think again, and look within to find out what piece may be missing for you.

10.  Give what you want to get. Our needs change with time. If you'd like to feel understood, try being more understanding. If you want to feel more love, try giving more. It's a simple program that really works.

Ex Miss Venezuela/Telemundo actress & ex shot dead in Venezuela

Former Miss Venezuela 2004 and popular telenovela actress, Monica Spear, 29, and her ex-husband Thomas Berry, 39, were shot dead in their car on a highway in Venezuela by armed robbers in front of their 5 year old daughter on Monday January 6th, local news reports.

Monica and Thomas were traveling with their daughter late Monday night when their car hit a sharp object which had been placed on the Puerto Cabello highway.

The couple came out of their car and dialed for help. While waiting for a tow truck, they saw armed men coming their way and locked themselves in their car. The men, later found to be armed robbers, opened fire through the car window, killing Monica & Thomas and injuring their daughter. Continue

    We all know the meaning of youth, most times it’s usually involve the use of the word “age range”. Some youths could be influential, positively, while others may not, when a youth is reasonable the nation is said to be developing but when a youth has nothing positive to impact to the nation, the nation is doomed.  

    Youths can be Agents of Change. Youth can be referred to as individuals who are no longer children and not yet adults. Used colloquially, however the term generally refers to a broader, more ambiguous field of reference- from the physically adolescent to those in their late twenties, with their different talents, youth can be powerful agents of social change and that change can be brought about only through deeper determination of individual youth.

     Young people need to play a key role in shaping the future of their nations and communities and yet they are often excluded from the decision making processes. Education helps young people become agents of change. Youth having good knowledge can be a source as a powerful agent of change.

Youth has already been making an impact in different ways, including:
  * Addressing local development challenges in their communities
  * Having common understanding which is problem solution in the community
  * Building relations between the state and society by collaborating with youth “champions” within government
Being a youth is a privilege which every youth has, youths are the solution of development problem.

Fulani herdsmen ravages Plateau church on New Year Eve, 3 killed, 16 wounded

              

Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on the eve of the New Year invaded the Church of Christ in Nations at Maiakworigold Maikatako village in Bokkos Local Government Council of Plateau State. 

The gang were said to have stormed the COCIN Church and started shooting sporadically. Two people were killed on the spot while the 16 people sustained various degrees of injuries in the ensuing stampede. 

The third victim in Manguna area of the same local council area was said to have been killed by the retreating gunmen. 

Mr. Augustine Bim,One of the eyewitnesses, told newsmen that during the service to usher in the New Year, some gunmen stormed the church and started to shoot at different directions. 

He said that the casualties were recorded when the worshipers started escaping through various directions. 

Speaker, Plateau State House of Assembly, Mr. Titus Alams, who confirmed the incident, described it as unfortunate. 

Alams, who is the member representing Bokkos State constituency, said that five of the victims were currently on admission at the Plateau State Specialist Hospital. 

He said they were in a stable condition while 11 people were receiving treatment at Barkin Ladi General Hospital. 

While commending the security operatives for their prompt response, he also urged them to do everything possible to fish out the perpetrators of this act. 

Alams appealed to the youths of Bokkos to remain calm and not to take the law into their own hands. He also urged them to report any suspicious movement to law enforcement agents in their environment.
